Group visits and guided tours
We welcome groups to Fulham Palace. Private tours are available throughout the year with a cost of £8 per person. Pre-booking is required and a minimum number of ten attendees apply.
Group tours are generally run from Monday to Thursday; however they can be arranged at any time suitable for your group. This includes Sunday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm. Evening tours are available by special arrangement, with appropriate refreshments.
We offer History Tours and Garden Tours, but can also adapt tours for particular interest groups or those with special needs. Refreshments for all tours can be booked in advance with the Drawing Room Café. The Museum Curator and volunteer guides are also available to give talks about Fulham Palace at your own venue should this be more suitable.
History Tours (90 minutes)
Tours begin outdoors looking at the history of the building and the gardens (weather permitting). Please dress appropriately for the weather and walking on paths and grass. Moving into the building the group will take in the Great Hall, Victorian Chapel, Bishop Terrick Drawing and Dining Rooms, Bishop Sherlock’s Room and will conclude with a visit to the two Museum rooms where permanent displays are exhibited. You will also have the opportunity to visit the museum shop where you can purchase a memento of your visit.
Garden Tours – new for 2015 (75 minutes)
We now offer private tours of the garden for groups. The tour includes the fascinating history of Fulham Palace gardens, including the “botanising bishops” Edmund Grindal and Henry Compton who helped make the gardens famous. We also show you our important collection of rare trees from around the world as well as the restored walled garden, which has recently been brought back into productive use. Crops are now grown both in the restored vinery and in the new vegetable beds. Groups may also arrange to see the Museum if they wish.
Regular tours and garden walks for the public take place throughout the year. Click here to learn more.
