We are pleased to announce that the Fulham Palace schools programme has been awarded the Sandford Award for Heritage Education.
Awarded to heritage properties where special provision has been made for educational visits by children of statutory school age, the judges were impressed by the learning programmes that Fulham Palace offers.
The annual awards are non-competitive and recognise quality and excellence in the educational services and facilities at a site. Judged by an independent panel of professionals from the education sector, the Sandford Award Scheme currently encompasses 200 historic sites with the U.K. and Ireland.
We are delighted to receive the award and our learning team are keen to build on this success to continue providing a rewarding, interactive and fun learning experience for all our visitors young and old.
The recently restored stable block is now home to our dedicated education centre. The Jesse Mylne Education Centre opened in April 2012, many schools have enjoyed the facilities over the past few months and we are looking forward to showing many more young people around next term. In the meantime the centre is being used for other education projects throughout the summer.
