It’s official: schools are back at the Palace this week!
After a brilliant summer in our historic stables-turned-education centre, we are ready for another year of hands-on learning. Whether you are a teacher planning a class trip, a home educator or looking for alternative learning opportunities, Fulham Palace offers a rich variety of bookable sessions and resources to bring history, science and storytelling to life.

For schools
From EYFS to KS2, our award-winning school sessions combine immersive activities, dressing up in costume and authentic objects from our collection. Every workshop is designed to link directly to the national curriculum, giving pupils an unforgettable learning experience.
With 10 sessions to choose from, highlights include:
- Vikings & Anglo-Saxons: our most popular session, packed with stories of raids, rulers and daily life.
- Tudors: a favourite of our learning producer, a lively workshop delving into the weird and wonderful world of Tudor medicine.
- Science in the garden: perfect for the summer term, pupils can hunt for insects using real scientific equipment, plant seeds to take home or look out for birds with our range of science sessions in the Palace garden.
Every session can also be paired with a self-guided trail, giving pupils the chance to explore the Palace and grounds at their own pace.

SEN & home education
Learning at Fulham Palace is for everyone! Our programmes go far beyond traditional school visits. We offer tailored sessions for SEN groups, dedicated workshops for home educators, and performance-based learning with Xenogenesis Arts.
This year, we’re especially excited to introduce the sleeping garden, a new sensory session designed for SEN schools. Pupils will bring the garden to life through songs and sensory-led activities before planting a seed to take home and care for.

Self-guided trails
Groups that prefer independent exploration can choose from five themed trails:
- Adinkra trail: follow African symbols and their meanings as part of our latest Resistance exhibition.
- Archaeology trail: uncover the layers of Roman, Saxon and Viking history beneath your feet.
- Palace architecture: spot the Tudor, Georgian and Victorian features of the Palace.
- The secret Palace: become history detectives and search for hidden clues.
- Beasts & Bishops: meet the animals and people who’ve lived at Fulham Palace over 6,000 years.
- Mouse trail: search through the Palace to find our cheeky mice.

Learning beyond the Palace
If you can’t bring your pupils to Fulham Palace, we’ll bring the Palace to you!
- Artefact loan boxes: handle authentic and replica Roman objects or Victorian household items to bring the Palace’s past into the classroom.
- Storytelling bags: inspire nursery and reception pupils with tactile props to accompany Maisy Goes to the Museum or The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
