Trusts and foundations play a crucial role in the development of Fulham Palace

The Fulham Palace garden apprenticeship scheme is supported by the Barbara and Philip Denny Charitable Trust.

They donated over £1 million to our 2018-19 restoration programme and continue to support important projects at the Palace, including our learning programme and garden apprenticeships.

If you’re a trust or foundation looking to support the Palace we’re currently fundraising for these projects:

  • Support for our apprenticeship programme
We provide three 18-month apprenticeships in our garden, with each apprentice receiving training at Capel Manor College together with on-the-job support and training.
  • Restoration of our chapel
Our chapel was designed by renowned architect, William Butterfield, in the 1860s.  Unfortunately some unsympathetic changes were made in the 1950s.  We would like to return it to its former glory and install heating.
  • An endowment for our learning and community programme
Our learning and community programme reaches over 20,000 families, children and young people every year.  An endowment would provide long term support for this important programme.
  • Benches and seating
To provide the best possible experience for our over 360,000 visitors each year, we would like to purchase benches for the garden and seating within the museum and historic rooms.
  • Furniture and painting acquisitions
We have a very small collection of paintings and no original furniture, as the Bishops of London tended to take their belongings with them when they left.  We would like to acquire historic furniture and paintings to bring our historic rooms to life.
