Meet Leah Oaker of LMA Property!
Leah is one of our incredible Fulham Palace supporters. While running her own property business in the heart of Fulham, she also makes time to volunteer at the museum front desk, sponsor some of our annual events and support us as a corporate patron. Leah is a huge asset to the Palace and we’re lucky to have her on board.
To celebrate her ongoing involvement, we recently caught up with Leah for a quick Q&A about what inspires her support, her favourite spots at the Palace and why volunteering has become such a rewarding part of her routine. Read on to learn what the Palace means to her.
How did you hear about the Palace?
I knew the Palace was somewhere in Fulham, but only really learned more about it – and about volunteering – through the wonderful Erin’s (marketing & communications manager) Instagram posts!
What are the different ways you support the Palace?
I volunteer when I can, about once a month, in the museum and shop. I also sponsor some of the Palace’s events. This year I’m proud to be sponsoring the annual Chair’s summer garden party in June which is hosted by the Bishop of London and Paul Gray the chair of Fulham Palace Trust. It’s always a brilliant event.
I try to support in other ways too, like using my local business knowledge and network to help the Palace make useful community connections and spread the word about this special place.
What inspired you to start supporting the Palace?
I wanted to get more involved in the Fulham community and didn’t want to just donate to a school or local group without knowing much about it. When I saw a call for volunteers on the Palace’s Instagram three years ago, it felt like the perfect fit.
What are your favourite things about supporting the Palace?
I love my days in the museum and shop – it’s such a refreshing change from my day-to-day work in property management! Instead of dealing with plumbing emergencies and electrical issues, I get to chat to people who are having a lovely day out. I enjoy seeing the grounds in all seasons, and the staff are always a pleasure to work with. It’s a joy to support this hidden gem and introduce it to people who’ve never visited before.
What does volunteering at the Palace mean to you?
It’s made me realise how many skills are transferable. I’d never imagined working alongside a heritage charity, but it turns out there’s lots I can contribute!
What are your favourite parts of the Palace?
I absolutely love the gardens – and the Tudor courtyard too. Every room has something special, and I’m keeping a close eye on the chapel, especially with the new altar cloth, to see what happens next.

Become a corporate Palace partner
If your business is looking for a meaningful way to connect with the local community, we’d love to welcome you as a corporate patron of Fulham Palace. Our corporate partners play a vital role in preserving this historic site while enjoying a range of benefits – from event invitations and brand visibility to exclusive access opportunities. Whether you’re a small local company or a larger organisation, your support helps us care for the Palace, deliver free community programmes, and keep our gardens and museum open for all.
Learn more about Leah’s business, LMA Property
LMA Property is based in the heart of Hammersmith & Fulham and covers South West London for all your lettings, sales, property management and refurbishment needs.
With us, you’ll always have a single point of contact – no being passed around departments – and even if you have more than one property, you’ll still work with the same person. We only take on a select number of properties at a time, so we can focus fully on letting or selling your home, not just filling quotas.
We only recommend tenants we’d be happy having in our own properties, and we treat every client’s property as if it were our own. We’re always happy to chat, so if you have any questions about property, just get in touch.
Community matters to us – and when we’re not in the office, you might find us volunteering at Fulham Palace or supporting its brilliant events.
