With each passing season, the historic buildings and beautiful garden of Fulham Palace are transformed.
Fallen leaves give way to sleet and snow, rime and frost to spring’s first buds, and with each new bloom or fallen leaf comes a time of celebration. From cosy Christmas parties to sun-splashed summer weddings, the gatherings that take place here are closely tied to nature. And whether in the depths of winter or the heady days of spring, one element remains ever-rooted: our dedication to nurturing your perfect private event.
Spring
The onset of spring brings the gardens back to life and marks the opening of the Chaplain’s marquee. Longer days and warmer evenings are met by trumpets of daffodils in the historic walled garden, whilst light cascades through the stained-glass windows of the Victorian-era Tait chapel. This is the perfect time of year for outdoor celebrations and the beginning of a busy events season, with the sound of birdsong ever present across the Palace grounds.
Summer
As the summer season starts to heat up, it’s time to head outside and soak up the sun. Beyond the heat of the city, the Palace grounds become a relaxed oasis for private events, with garden parties and wedding receptions taking over the tree-shaded lawn and suntrap Tudor courtyard. The Palace is, of course, an iconic wedding venue, and with sultry evenings simmering and the venue in full bloom, this really is one of our favourite times of the year.
Autumn
When the autumn wind blows in, the plane trees of Bishop’s Park shake loose and shed their leaves, and here at Fulham Palace a time of harvest begins. Apple day fills the grounds with a cornucopia of colour, evening events begin to illuminate the grounds, and the red foxes take pause in their nightly foraging to listen in on the sound of tinkling ivories and clinking crystal glasses. This season is full of surprises, and this year we welcomed a Charlotte Tilbury masterclass to the Palace, adding a touch of rouge and glamour to an oh-so pretty autumn.
Winter
Here at the Palace we know that winter doesn’t have to be a time for hibernation. As the temperature outside starts to drop, the historic building comes to life, with Christmas parties, seasonal dinners and winter weddings all taking place inside our cosy halls. The sumptuous oak-panelled surroundings of the 15th century Great Hall play host to many a yuletide celebration, while the outdoor marquee stays toasty warm come rain or sleeting snow. It’s the perfect time to hang up your coat and step inside to celebrate the year gone by.
A venue for all seasons
Watched over by the ancient holm oak that stands in its grounds, Fulham Palace has borne witness to many a frozen winter and flowering spring. With each new season, the Palace and its gardens offer up unexpected delights, and it has been our pleasure to have hosted so many memorable moments over the course of this last year. As a fresh start approaches, we look forward to helping more of your spectacular celebrations to bloom across 2026.
