Teddy bear picnic
If you go down to the Palace today, you’re sure of a big surprise!
Our Palace cat Edmund invites you and your favourite teddy bear to a springtime picnic in his walled garden. Pack a picnic from home or purchase one from the café and enjoy crafts, garden games, magic and singalongs in the beautiful blooming garden.

Event programme
Mini Mozart
- 11.30 – 12.00
Enjoy live music with piano and trombone from the Mini Mozart team! They’ll bring music to life and you can join in with some classic singalong rhymes and that old favourite – the parachute.
Magic with Twizzle
- 12.00 – 12.30
- 13.30 – 14.00
Local events company Twizzle will be delighting us with magic – try to work out how they do it, you’ll never guess!
Organised game session
- 12.45 – 13.15
Play pin the heart on the teddy and teddy bear bingo – and of course introduce your teddy to some of the others at the picnic!
Throughout
Crafts
Make your own teddy bear ear headband, make a name tag for your teddy and do a crossword.
Trail
Hunt the animals in the garden with the teddy bear trail.
Guess the bears in the jar (£2)
How good are you at counting? See if you can work out how many gummy bears are in the jar.
Teddy photobooth (£3)
Take an instant film photo for you and your teddy to remember your day out.
And don’t forget…
Make sure to leave time to enjoy your picnic, look for the Palace’s cats and play with the lawn games including connect four and cornhole.
This event will be going ahead in all weather, be sure to dress accordingly.
