Family fun day: the kingmaker

On this day in 1689 the succession of King William III and Queen Mary II was confirmed by Parliament.

The Bishop of London, Henry Compton, risked his life when he joined other noblemen and invited William to take the throne from King James II.

Explore this period of intrigue, rebellion and treason. There’ll be activities and crafts including secret letters and hands on archaeology!

Update – it may be windy today but don’t worry about the weather!  The spies have arrived…can you intercept their messages?!
