Something strange is stirring in the woods this Halloween. The trees are whispering, cats are talking, parents are behaving very oddly and, deep in the forest, there’s a house made entirely of gingerbread. Surely, it’s too good to be true…
Hansel and Gretel have wandered deep into the spooky woods. Cold, tired and very hungry, they can hardly believe their luck when they stumble across a delicious-looking gingerbread house. But there’s more to this sweet little cottage than meets the eye, and the mysterious old lady who lives inside may not be quite as kind as she seems.
Will Hansel and Gretel find their way home? Can they outsmart the witch? And most importantly, will they resist the temptation to eat the gingerbread house?
Join Cat & Hutch this Halloween for a magical and mischievous retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm tale. With interactive storytelling, playful puppetry and plenty of songs, this fun-filled adventure brings the story of Hansel and Gretel to life for little theatre-goers.
Perfect for children aged 4 to 7, it’s a wonderfully spooky way to spend a morning during half term. Come along, settle in and prepare to follow Hansel and Gretel into the woods… if you dare!
Event details
- The event will take place in the chaplain’s garden marquee.
- This event is suitable for ages 4 – 7. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Doors open from 10.30 so you can arrive early and get comfortable before the show begins.
- The show runs for approximately 50 minutes with no interval, but the marquee doors will stay open throughout if you need to step out for the toilet.
- The Palace café will be open for food and drink. Covered bottled drinks are welcome at the performance but please do not bring any other food or drink.
- Dressing up is optional – come as you are or in your favourite Halloween costume.
- Tickets can be purchased on the door, subject to availability.
