Kids craft club: Anglo-Saxon & Viking

Get creative and explore history with hands-on kids craft workshops for children ages 8-16.

Join us this August for a brand-new four-part Kids craft club series at Fulham Palace. Each week we’ll travel through time to a different historic era, exploring creativity through hands on making inspired by the Palace and its garden.

Designed for children aged 8 to 16, these independent workshops are a fun and engaging way to learn new skills, get creative and discover fascinating moments throughout history. All materials are provided, all abilities are welcome and each session includes a healthy snack break.

Please note children attend independently and must be dropped off and collected by a parent or carer.

What to expect

Each workshop blends history with practical art activities, encouraging imagination, experimentation and play. Children will create their own artworks to take home, guided by our friendly team.

This week:

Explore the beautiful world of Anglo-Saxon calligraphy and Viking runes. We’ll make our own quills and try them out, prepare some salt dough and practice carving runes just like the Vikings.
