Open House London
We’re taking part in Open House London with free guided history tours!
Ever wondered what goes on behind the many doors of our famous Tudor courtyard? Now is your chance to find out! Join us for a free guided tour of the warren of rooms built by Bishop FitzJames. Explore amazing architectural features and incredible structures of the Palace, such as rare wall partitions, before finishing the tour with the opportunity to climb into the roof space!
Tours will meet in the Tudor courtyard and will take place every hour from 11.00 – 15.00. Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes.
Accessibility
Access to the Tudor courtyard office is via a staircase of approx. 20 steps, with some large steps up and down inside the office space. Access to the entrance to the roof space is via 3 steep staircases, approx. 38 steps. There are opportunities to sit between both staircases.
The entrance into the roof space is via 3 large, steep steps, with low head clearance. Visitors will need to bend down, whilst climbing these steps.
We recommend visitors have a medium-high level of agility and a reasonable level of fitness to take part in the tour.
