Palace explorers: Children’s favourites – Toys
Join our creative, hands-on sessions for 2 to 4-year-olds and their adults.
Each week introduces an exciting new theme to explore. This term’s theme is ‘Children’s favourites’. We asked about your favourite sessions and have compiled them all into one exciting term!
Term schedule:
Week 1: 3 & 4 January – Toys
The toys are tired of being in their boxes! Let your child play with our extensive toy collection and take their favourites to play with around the Palace.
Week 2: 10 & 11 January – Building with bricks
Look carefully at the Palace – can you see different brick shapes and colour changes? Have a go at making your own brick pattern.
Week 3: 17 & 18 January – Tractors and trucks
Come along and sit on the Palace tractor and buggy, play with cars and make your own paint tracks!
Week 4: 24 & 25 January – Cuffs and ruffs
Big or small – there are costumes galore to explore. What did Elizabeth 1st wear when she visited the Palace? Make a cuff and jewelled glove.
Week 5: 31 January & 1 February – Cooking at Fulham Palace
The children use counting in the Victorian kitchen and use modelling material to make a gingerbread man.
Week 6: 7 & 8 February – Gone fishing
Where did people get their fish from in the past? Use paint to make a wonderful fishy picture.
