This term
Join us for a term of Palace explorers with the theme of movement!
Week 1: Let’s move
7 /8 June
What is still in the Palace? -certainly not the Explorers! Skip, jump, crawl and run to find out all about transport, animals and insects moving around the Palace.
Week 2: Wheels
14/15 June
Gardeners use many different wheels, come and sit on the tractors and carts. Toot the horn!
Week 3: Up and down
21/22 June
Explore the fountain, river and sluice gate and paint a watery picture.
Week 4: Bees
28/29 June
The bees are busy whizzing from flower to flower, learn how honey is made and create bee art.
Week 5: Toys
5/6 July
Round and round, spinning and rolling. Handle old toys, play Victorian games and make a spinner.
Week 6: Insects
12/13 July
Insects wiggle, squirm and flutter. Discover the tiny world of movement and take home a bug magnet.
Week 7: Horses
19/20 July
Make a hobby horse and gallop across the Palace grounds.
Accompanying adult and babies are free. Please note, children must be accompanied by one adult. All Palace explorers sessions are now held outdoors to adhere to the current Covid-19 guidelines and keep everyone as safe as possible. Indoor sessions will only be held in the event of very poor weather following strict procedures. The group size is now smaller, with only six slots available for each session; in order to keep our group small, only one adult can attend per child. To safely hold Palace explorer sessions we are carefully following guidelines in line with government Covid procedures. This will include hand hygiene, social distancing and limited sharing of resources.
