Supporter exclusive: tour of the Museum of the Order of St John (sold out)

We are excited to invite our Friends and Patrons on a bespoke tour to discover the 400-year story of a vast and prosperous Priory established by the Order of St John.

Fulham Palace Supporters can join an exclusive tour on Wednesday 29 March! Just beyond the walls of the ancient City of London, the Order’s Priory was a vast estate established as the English headquarters of the religious military order known as the Knights Hospitaller.

This expert-guided tour will cover the entire site, including the church and 12th-century crypt and the historic rooms which are not freely open to the public. Anna Mason, Head of Public Engagement & Collections at the Museum of the Order of St John will provide a bespoke tour of St John’s Gate and the Priory Church. The Order of St John is an ancient religious order that has its origins in 11th century Jerusalem and is now more commonly known for its modern-day role as St John Ambulance. The tour will take you through the history of St John’s Gate and explore the many fascinating uses of this medieval building.

The tour will last 60 minutes. The tour includes the Priory Church, crypt and historic rooms in St John’s Gate.

We will meet at the Museum of the Order of St John’s reception, which is under the arch of St John’s Gate, and expect the tour to last for around one hour. Some of this tour will take place outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Patrons are welcome to bring a pre-booked guest.
