Walking meditation & creative writing workshop

Reconnect through nature, mindfulness and creative expression.

Step away from the everyday and slow down with a gentle walking meditation and guided creative writing session in the peaceful gardens of Fulham Palace, led by Dr Michelle Asantewa.

As you move through the historic riverside grounds, you will be invited to observe the natural world with fresh attention, noticing sound, scent, movement and stillness. These moments of mindfulness will lead into a relaxed writing session, where you can explore your thoughts, reflect on your experience and shape your observations through creative expression.

Dr Michelle Asantewa, an award-winning author and community activist, will guide the session. Through mindfulness, heritage and writing, she will help you connect more deeply with yourself and your surroundings.

Whether you write regularly or are simply curious, this is a calm and supportive space to listen inwardly and reconnect with nature’s quiet wisdom.

This event is part of Black History 365, Fulham Palace’s year-round series that highlights the stories and perspectives of people who have been historically marginalised.

No writing experience is needed. Please bring a notebook, an open mind and a willingness to pause.
