Join community archaeologist Alexis in this practical session to learn how archaeologists ensure that fragile objects they excavate are preserved and protected from further damage. Explore the techniques used to recreate pottery vessels from small fragments and get hands-on experience with conservation methods. This session is perfect for young history buffs eager to understand the care and skill involved in preserving our past.

Mystery excursion

Get ready for an archaeological adventure beyond Fulham Palace. In this special session we’ll travel to a surprise location to explore a site connected to history and archaeology. Where will we go and what will we discover? Join us to find out as we investigate the past in a new setting.


Event details:

  • Our Young Archaeologists’ Club is for ages 8 – 16.
  • Students attend independently.
  • Attendees should come dressed in appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
  • Guardians will be asked to sign a photo permission form for their student at this workshop. There is no obligation to sign this form if you do not wish your child to be photographed.
