Patrons exclusive: Paintings conservation talk

Join us for an exclusive Patrons-only talk from conservator, Jim Dimond!

Fine art conservator Jim Dimond, and his intern Luz Vanasco, share about the conservation efforts of the Benjamin West paintings. The paintings were removed during the lockdown in March 2021 in order for vital conservation work to take place and have since been returned. The Benjamin West paintings are large-scale romanticised, religious depictions of St. Margaret, Queen of Scotland (c.1046-1093) and Thomas à Becket (c.1118-1170).

Learn more about the Benjamin West painting conservation in collection and conservation officer, Roxane’s blog.

This is a Patrons exclusive event. Please note that we hope to hold this event in person at the Palace, subject to any changes in government guidelines. Please email Imogen at development@fulhampalace.org by Tuesday 1 March if you would like to attend.
