Amici Cantabile is a group of friends who were brought together by their love of singing. They have been performing together for several years under the direction of Lydia Newlands in support of a range of charitable causes. Regular attendance at the ‘Singing & Wellbeing Workshops’, which started in 2012, led them to form Amici Cantabile in 2014 and to build up an increasing repertoire of operatic duets, trios, quartets and quintets. They have been greatly helped on by Lydia, the musical director and piano accompanist, with whom they have studied and performed a diverse range of quintets, quartets, trios, duets and solo arias by virtuoso, classical composers.
