History tour
Behind the Palace’s elegant façade lies a long and layered history, full of secrets and surprises.
Join one of our experienced volunteer guides to find the hidden door, hear the story of ‘Bloody’ Bishop Bonner and uncover the site’s long history, from Neolithic beginnings to over 1,300 years as the country home to the Bishops of London.
You’ll explore the grounds before stepping inside the Palace itself, from the Tudor great hall to the Georgian dining rooms and Victorian chapel, finishing in our museum among thousands of years of artefacts.
Stick around afterwards: tour attendees get 10% off in our café, and if you become a member on the day of your tour, your ticket price is refunded in full!
