Palace explorers: early summer term (Tuesdays)

Join our creative, hands-on sessions for 2 to 4 year olds and their adults.  Each week introduces an exciting new theme to explore.

Our theme for the early summer term is…

Meet the Bishops!

Tuesday sessions: early summer term (30 April – 21 May 2019)
  • Tuesday 30 April – This week we’ll be meeting the Bishops on a trail around the Palace and making our own Bishops’ book.
  • Tuesday 7 May – This week we’ll learn about the games Bishop Tait’s children played in the Victorian era. We’ll learn about special ‘Sunday’ toys, and we’ll learn how children were quiet on a Sunday.
  • Tuesday 14 May – This week we’ll learn about Bishop Wand, who didn’t like the patterns in the chapel so much he painted over them! We’ll visit the chapel and then design our own patterns.
  • Tuesday 21 May – This week we’ll find out about the Palace under Bishop Winnington – Ingram. We will learn about soldiers and how the Palace became a hospital during the war. We will learn about medicine, how to make a sling and bandage and look after each other.
