Palace explorers growing gardens session booking: green gardens

Join our creative, hands-on sessions for 2 to 4 year olds and their adults. Each week introduces an exciting new theme to explore.

This term

Seeds (19/20 April)
It is spring, just the right time to start growing early seeds. Discover big and small seeds in fruit and vegetables and watch them grow.

Our garden (26/27 April)
With your little Palace explorer we will discuss and draw memories of a garden. Together we will imagine a perfect future garden.

Planting (3/4 May)
What seeds are growing in the Palace greenhouses? Learn how to care for seeds and sow some vegetable seeds.

Flowers (10/11 May)
There are many beautiful flowers to see in May, we’ll be inspired by these and create wonderful floral art.

Green gardens (17/18 May)
How many greens can you see in the garden? Investigate paint mixing to develop as many greens as possible.

The hungry queen (24/25 May)
Queen Elizabeth I visited the Palace in 1588 to enjoy a huge banquet. Inspired by this, we will make a ‘very hungry queen’ book!

Accompanying adult and babies are free. Please note, children must be accompanied by one adult. All Palace explorers sessions are now held outdoors to adhere to the current Covid-19 guidelines and keep everyone as safe as possible. Indoor sessions will only be held in the event of very poor weather following strict procedures. The group size is now smaller, with only six slots available for each session; in order to keep our group small, only one adult can attend per child. To safely hold Palace explorer sessions we are carefully following guidelines in line with government Covid procedures. This will include hand hygiene, social distancing and limited sharing of resources.
