Enthusiasts aged 8 – 16 can explore history hands-on with our Young Archaeologists’ Club!
Join community archaeologist Alexis and discover the long and layered history of Fulham Palace. The Young Archaeologists’ Club welcomes young enthusiasts aged 8 to 16 years old to join independently and explore the fascinating world of archaeology.

22 June – Foreshore walk
Join the annual walk along the Thames foreshore! We’ll stroll along the stretch of foreshore from Bishop’s Park to Putney Bridge. Low tide is at 10.30, so this session will be an early start at 9.30 and finish at 11.15.
20 July – Excursion to South London Botanical Institute
What is environmental archaeology and why is it important? On this trip, we’ll explore the importance of plants throughout history and what they can tell us about the environmental landscape of the past.
28 September – Neolithic burial chambers
What is a Neolithic burial chamber? Let’s find out! We’ll discover what they are and have a go at creating our own prehistoric burial chambers.
26 October – Halloween
We’re celebrating the spooky season with a special Halloween-themed session. Together we’ll be making witching bottles, carving traditional turnips and mummifying objects!
Event details:
- Our Young Archaeologists’ Club is for ages 8 – 16.
- Students attend independently.
- Attendees should come dressed in appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
- Guardians will be asked to sign a photo permission form for their student at this workshop. There is no obligation to sign this form if you do not wish your child to be photographed.
