Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC): Vikings
Our Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) is back with an exciting new term of hands-on sessions!
Join community archaeologist Alexis and uncover some of the long and layered history of Fulham Palace. Young Archaeologists’ Club is suitable for young people ages 8 – 16 years old and attends independently.
Schedule:
Saturday 7 October – Vikings
Did you know that it’s thought that the Vikings overwintered in Fulham between 878 and 879? Together we’ll explore the impact of the Vikings in Britain. We’ll create shields and axes in an attempt to imagine how the Fulham Vikings may have appeared.
11 November – Secrets of cess
What can diet tell us about the past and how do we find out what people were eating hundreds of years ago? Together we explore the significance of cess and the less glamorous elements of archaeology!
