Palace explorers: Children’s choice!

Join our creative, hands-on sessions for 2 to 4 year olds and their adults. Each week introduces an exciting new theme to explore.

Toys
Inspired by the Explorers this terms themes were suggested by the children.
First off is toys! The children will be hands on with our extensive collection of old and new toys.

Upcoming sessions this term

Tuesday 14 January – Bricks
Celebrate William Butterfield and the joy of colour in bricks. This week the children will be making their own bricks.

Tuesday 21 January – Trucks and tractors
Experience sitting on the tractors and vehicles that are used around the gardens. Then, take your chalk for a walk on enormous paper rolls.

Tuesday 28 January – Cuffs and ruffs
Royalty and nobility need special clothes, this week children will learn the order of dress for a Tudor monarch, and create their own bejewelled glove.

Tuesday 4 February – Cooking at the Palace
Did you know the oldest turkey bones in Britain were found at Fulham Palace? Explore the cuisine and culinary history of the Tudor Palace.

Tuesday 11 February – Gone fishing
Picture yourself fishing in the moat, visit the river, and imagine what you might catch. This week children will learn about the different types of fish that call the river home, and go on a ‘fishing trip’ to the moat.

Tickets

Tickets include a drink and healthy snack. Accompanying adults and babies are free. Please note, children must be accompanied by an adult.
