Palace explorers: early summer term (Mondays)
Join our creative, hands-on sessions for 2 to 4 year olds and their adults. Each week introduces an exciting new theme to explore.
Our theme for the early summer term is…
Meet the Bishops!
Monday sessions: early summer term (29 April – 20 May 2019)
- Monday 29 April – We’ll be meeting the Bishops on a trail around the Palace and making our own Bishops’ book.
- Monday 6 May – We’ll learn about the games Bishop Tait’s children played in the Victorian era. We’ll learn about special ‘Sunday’ toys, and we’ll learn how children were quiet on a Sunday.
- Monday 13 May – We’ll learn about Bishop Wand, who didn’t like the patterns in the chapel so much he painted over them! We’ll visit the chapel and then design our own patterns.
- Monday 20 May – This week we’ll find out about the Palace under Bishop Winnington – Ingram. We will learn about soldiers and how the Palace became a hospital during the war. We will learn about medicine, how to make a sling and bandage and look after each other.
