Palace Explorers

Join our themed weekly adventures for 2 – 4 year-olds and their adults.

Each week introduces an exciting new theme relating to the Palace: from a special visit featuring local mounted police to planting and growing seeds, making Georgian chocolate for Easter and meeting Queen Elizabeth I, and even an opportunity to take the wheel (and be photographed) in a garden tractor!

Sessions are creative, hands-on and informal, but we work hard to plan content in line with the government recommended Development Matters framework for Early Years, to ensure active learning for our Palace Explorers through playing and exploring. Fulham Palace is truly special setting in which to learn alongside your child and watch their confidence grow.

The Palace Explorers meet each Monday and Tuesday at 9.30 and are based in the Jessie Mylne Education Centre at Fulham Palace.

Late Spring Term (25 February – 2 April)

Starting on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 February, Palace Explorers will be looking at a theme of ‘Growing and Eating’. The term is six weeks long, finishing on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 April. We will be:

  • walking in the garden, looking at fruit with the gardeners at Fulham Palace (Mon 4 & Tue 5 March)
  • cooking – making a sandwich with the sprouting seeds which we planted last week (Mon 11 & Tue 12 March)
  • painting the Palace green – discovering the spectrum of green in the garden and creating green paint (Mon 18 & Tue 19 March)
  • making a ‘Very Hungry Queen’ book and learning about the diet of Queen Elizabeth I, including grapes (Mon 25 & Tue 26 March)
  • discovering edible flowers, and making our own sugary flowers (Mon 1 & Tue 2 April)

Booking is essential, email education@fulhampalace.org to reserve your place. Tickets are available for individual sessions on a first come, first served basis.

The cost is £5.00 per child, which includes a drink and healthy snack. Accompanying adults and babies are free.

Booking will open soon.

The cost will be £5.50 per child, which includes a drink and healthy snack. Accompanying adults and babies are free.
