Palace Explorers

Join our themed weekly adventures for 2 – 4 year-olds and their adults.

Each week introduces an exciting new theme relating to the Palace: from a special visit featuring local mounted police to planting and growing seeds, making Georgian chocolate for Easter and meeting Queen Elizabeth I, and even an opportunity to take the wheel (and be photographed) in a garden tractor!

Sessions are creative, hands-on and informal, but we work hard to plan content in line with the government recommended Development Matters framework for Early Years, to ensure active learning for our Palace Explorers through playing and exploring. Fulham Palace is truly special setting in which to learn alongside your child and watch their confidence grow.

The Palace Explorers meet each Monday and Tuesday at 9.30am and are based in the Jessie Mylne Education Centre at Fulham Palace.

Early Spring Term

Starting on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 January, Palace Explorers will be touching, learning about and playing with water at the Palace. We will be:

  • Watching out for all the water bird life around the Palace and creating our own duck finger puppets (Mon 21 & Tue 22)
  • Dressing up as Eliza Hattis, a Victorian Palace servant, and helping give the Palace a spring clean  (Mon 28 & Tue 29 Jan)
  • Learning about steam, water and ice and crafting a mini train (Mon 4 & Tue 5 Feb)
  • Using Victorian wash day objects to launder fabric, enjoy bubbles and making delightful messy foam prints (Mon 11 & Tue 12 Feb)

How to book:

Booking is essential.  The cost is £5 per child, which includes a drink and healthy snack. Accompanying adults and babies are free.

Tickets are available for individual sessions on a first come, first served basis.
